Jesus Christ they were 3 people gang banging me with questions. I successfully answered most of them, but I was a bit lost when they asked stuff about construction machinery. I never worked on them...I was lost with a few terms too. But overall it went fine...I hope. I'm gonna get the answer in 1-2 weeks.
The things that sucks tho is:
1. The hours. I either work evening/night/weekend shifts steadily, but by December 16 they don't know how it's gonna be because of the snow rush. I could even end up in the day shift.
2. They just need a guy for the winter period because of budget cuttings and lots of guys out on injury leave. Which means that after winter 2 things might happen. I either get sacked and get a recommendation for another district or I get the job of a guy leaving for the day shift. Problem is, I end up being a maintenance guy instead of a mechanic and this drops my salary from 32$/h to 25-26$/h. Sucks....
I'm still waiting for another shot at CN to see what they have to offer, but the reviews about the company kinda sucks from what I've seen. Via Rail is also looking for mechanics. I might apply there if CN takes too long.

I was once interviewed for a teaching job my no less than 12 people. By the end of that, I knew I wouldn't get the job, and I knew I didn't want it either.

YES! It was like getting a train run on me.
I actually knew a few of the people, but one of them hated me. The feeling was mutual. I'm pretty sure that miserable prick hated everybody, including himself. When that interview was (finally!) over, I tore out of there like a bat out of hell, and never looked back.
A friend of mine had a similar experience there. They actually wanted to hire him, but he was so disgusted by the interview process, he never even called them back.

Best of luck! I'm in the post-interview-waiting time right now, too. Trying to tackle all the huge house projects in order to distract myself and make the wait go more quickly. Seriously, I've replaced all our interior doors, rewired the home cable/network, demolished and replaced the compost and yard waste system, etc. I'll probably re-plumb the laundry room next. Waiting sucks. Hope it works out best for you!
